Space Exploration

11 Mar

This weekend I finally got a chance to go to the Museum of Natural History in NYC to check out the beyond planet earth exhibit.

This is an image of a mock-up moon station. Obviously not happening any time soon but it’s nice to know that thought is being put into continuing space exploration.

There was also an exhibit showing the Mars Rover Curiosity which lauched November 26, 2011. It is set to land in 147 days on August 6th. This rover is much larger than Spirit and Opportunity which are the rovers launched in 2004. It is described as mini-cooper size.

Continuing on the topic of space, I saw this video earlier and it just goes perfectly with this post. I think everyone should take a listen because some people are clueless about the situation with space exploration in this country (some people like Newt Gingrich) . Neil deGrasse Tyson, what a badass.

Adding also to what Neil says, everyone seems to forget about Laika the Space Dog.
