Happiness

As I sit here and plan all of the meticulous pieces of my classroom – management plans, investment plan, vision, goals, student/parent survey, rewards systems, etc. I keep trying to think of ways to get my students truly invested in learning physics and earth science. Although this work isn’t technically rocket science, it is incredibly difficult. Having no prior experience and no idea how to engage high school students, I find myself struggling to come up with all these plans.
I had to stop for a minute between all the stress and frustration and think about a quote I remembered from when I read Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell.
“It’s not how much money we make that ultimately makes us happy between nine and five. It’s whether or not our work fulfills us. Being a teacher is meaningful.”
― Malcolm Gladwell, Outliers: The Story of Success
So there you go. Back to the grind!
