Day 1

Before leaving Hamilton Sundstrand , I kept hearing all about this talk about Day 1. What it ended up being was the nomenclature for what the executives were calling the first day of integration between Hamilton Sundstrand and Goodrich after the merger of the two companies. I decided that I liked that title for my blog today.
Today is officially my Day 1 on this new adventure I have embarked on. Today is the beginning of my 6 week training for becoming a teacher. I will be dorming (yup, dorming) at St. Johns University for the next six weeks. I am excited and nervous about this transition. Today, although hectic, was a good day. I met some awesome people, who like me, are beginning this journey. I am looking forward to the next few weeks hoping to learn as much as I can of how to fix this achievement gap and how to be the best teacher I can be.

Although it looks like there are six people in my room, it’s actually a suite with three rooms; a single, a double and a triple. Unfortunately, I ended up in the triple but my roommates are really nice.
