Annoying Payphone

23 May

Thanks to NPR I am hooked on the song Payphone by Maroon 5. Not my usual music choice but after reading their article the other day I haven’t been able to stop listening to the song.

The title of te artice was Adam Levine has our number and won’t stop calling

Their description of the song couldn’t be more accurate:

Maroon 5‘s “Payphone” is the most irritating song on the radio right now. With a hook as insidiously intrusive as your officemate’s ringtone, a Wiz Khalifa rap so disconnected from the main lyric that it seems like an accidental cut and paste, and a martial beat that replaces this L.A. band’s louche funk withColdplay pomp, “Payphone” just does not make for satisfying listening.”

Despite all that, I can’t seem to get this annoying song out of my head

Oh, you turned your back on tomorrow
‘Cause you forgot yesterday.
I gave you my love to borrow,
But you just gave it away.

You can’t expect me to be fine,
I don’t expect you to care
I know I’ve said it before,
But all of our bridges burned down
